Most of us have been in a relationship that we know is not very healthy and celebrity couples arent immune to bad romances either.

Lets take a look at some Hollywood couples that have had their toxic relationships played out for the world to see.

Well start with a current toxic couple, Rihanna and Chris Brown, who have been making headlines with their crazy romance.

Rihanna and Chris Brown have kept fans guessing on whether they are together or not. It seems the status of their relationship changes daily. Rihanna recently celebrated her 25th birthday in Hawaii with Chris Brown, with rumors he had plans to propose. This is all happening while Brown is still on probation for assaulting her back in 2008.

Critics lashed out when Rihanna spoke out last year about still being in love with Chris, feeling she isnt being a good role model for wanting to be with a man that abused her. RiRi doesnt care and said she is just living her life.

In addition to the already bad romance, Chris Brown always seems to be hooking back up with his off/on girlfriend Karrueche Tran.

Another bad romance is that of the late Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain and Hole singer Courtney Love.

Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love met at a concert in 1991 just as his band Nirvana was hitting the big-time. Kurt and Courtney tied the knot a year later while the Hole singer was pregnant with Frances Bean.

Love was accused of using heroin during her pregnancy and Kurt Cobains drug problems quickly got out of hand as he tried to deal with his new fame, depression, and chronic stomach ulcer.

In March of 1994, Love called police in Seattle claiming Cobain was suicidal and had locked himself in a room with a gun. Cobain insisted that he was not suicidal and had locked himself in the room to hide from Love.

Cobain entered rehab but his stay was brief. He left and returned to Seattle while Courtney was promoting her upcoming album. Kurt was found dead on April 8, 1994 of a self-inflicted gunshot wound with heroin in his system.

One insider said of the toxic couple, Kurt and Courtney as a couple, symbolized everything about the slacker generation They had the world at their fingertips and were tortured drug addicts. Theirs was a relationship you know, filled with conflict.

British model Kate Moss & singer Pete Doherty

Kate Moss has a thing for rock stars, but her tumultuous relationship with Babyshambles rocker Pete Doherty was really nasty.

The couple met Kates 31st birthday party in 2005, and had a tumultuous romanc! e that fi! nally ended in 2007. Doherty was deep into his cocaine and heroin addiction and couldnt give it up.

Pete Doherty later revealed that Kate burned his beloved childhood teddy bear when they split. He said, I had Pandy with me always, everywhere I went. And when we split up, Kate burnt it. How can you do that, what kind of sick f**k does that?

The British model went on to marry The Kills rocker Jamie Hince in July 2011.

Amy Winehouse & Blake Fielder-Civil

Amy Winehouse and Blake Fielder-Civils toxic relationship was notoriously played out in the headlines. The couple, who married in 2007 and split two years later, couldnt seem to live with each other or without one another.

Both Amy and Blake admitted it was a toxic relationship but the singer felt he was the male version of herself. Their relationship was filled with drugs, threesomes, violence, and self-mutilation.

Winehouse always said Blake Fielder-Civil was the great love of her life and she couldnt let go of him. He was behind bars for burglary and for possession of an imitation firearm when Amy Winehouse died in July 2011 of alcohol poisoning.

The late Amy Winehouse always called Blake her most precious poisonous possession. Blake reportedly was inconsolable when he learned of his former wifes death. He tried to commit suicide last year in August 2012, but was unsuccessful.

Whitney Houston & Bobby Brown

Another tragic love story was that of late singer Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown. The couple married in 1992 after a three-year relationship.

Whitney and Bobby Brown used crack and couldnt seem to shake their nasty habit. Whitney Houston was found dead in a hotel bathtub at age 48, with her autopsy showing cocaine and heart disease as the cause of death.

Many blamed Bobby Brown for getting Whitney started on drugs but her brother recently admitted introducing his sister to crack.

Whitney Houston told Oprah on her show previously, He [Bobby Brown] was my drug. I didnt do anything without him. I wasnt getting high by myself. It was me and him together, and we were partners, and thats what my high was him. He and I being together, and whatever we did, we did it together. No matter what, we did it together.

Madonna & Sean Penn

Madonna and Sean Penn married in 1985, with Penn later admitting he was drunk during most of the marriage. Even to this day the couple have an attraction, with Penn even attending one of her shows this past year saying she was so hot.

Their volatile relationship often made headlines. Sean Penn once hit Madonna over the head with a baseball bat. She took him back over and over again with him promising to go to rehab.

The final straw came when Penn held Madonna against her will for nine hours after breaking into her Malibu home in 1989.

The actor told the singer he owned her and bound her to a chair with heavy twine, threatening to shave off all her hair. He was drinking liquor straight from the bottle as he attacked her. He left her bound and gagged to get more alcohol only to return and continue the attacks.

Madonna said that he untied her after she agreed to perform a sex act on him. She took her chance and ran to her car and made her way to the sheriffs office.

Madonna filed for divorce, but withdrew the assault charges against Penn. She still believed that he was the love of her life and didnt want to see him go to jail.

Most all of these toxic celebrity couples relationships ended tragically. Most of the stars that made it through their tumultuous romances made the wise decision to leave.
