R&B singer Chris Brown has reportedly addressed his now-infamous attack on girlfriend Rihanna four years ago in Los Angeles and said she has forgiven him.

Brown said it took extensive time to win back RiRi after violently attacking her during the 2009 Grammy Awards weekend.

Exhibit A: R&B star Chris Brown says he's worked hard and persuaded pop-star Rihanna to forgive him and love him again, even though he beat her up in 2009 and may still be on the hook for charges in the case. London's The Mirror tabloid is reporting today that he granted a "searingly honest" interview to a Mirror scribe in which he apologized, again, held up the assault as the "biggest mistake" of his life, and acknowledged that winning Rihanna back took months of "serious making up." "But she loves me -- what can I say? I'm forgiven ... but, yes, I worked hard for it," he told reporter Clemmie Moodie on Sunday at the Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscar-watching party. (USA Today)

Breezy also addressed the constant backlash and public attacks he receives.

Brown has blown off the public backlash against him since reuniting with Rihanna, including Seth MacFarlane's Oscar joke in which he compared the "unspeakable violence" of "Django Unchained" to a "date night for Rihanna and Chris Brown." "People attack me and criticize me, it happens all the time," he said. "But they don't know me, and they don't know us. It doesn't bother me anymore." He added, "Other people can judge us but they don't know anything." (ABC News)

According to recent reports, Brown's attack on the female star is likely the inspiration behind an upcoming episode of NBC's "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit."

Next Wednesday's episode of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" is being billed by NBC as "a familiar story of two celebrities" -- and to pop fans, it seems very familiar indeed. The episode "Funny Valentine" appears extremely similar to the ongoing saga of Rihanna and Chris Brown. According to the official preview, a rising, young singer is badly beaten by her hip-hop star boyfriend, portrayed in the trailer as a 20-something African-American who tends to wear fitted hats. Authorities work to build a case, but the singer sticks by her man and refuses to aid the investigation, which turns into a "media circus." (Billboard)

Recently, Rihanna spoke out on hooking back up with Brown despite their publicized initial break-up.

"When you add up the pieces from the outside, it's not the cutest puzzle in! the worl! d," Rihanna says. "You see us walking somewhere, driving somewhere, in the studio, in the club, and you think you know. But it's different now. We don't have those types of arguments anymore. We talk about sh*t. We value each other. We know exactly what we have now, and we don't want to lose that." And Rihanna says that if Brown were ever to display a hint of his past behavior towards her, she is ready to walk. "He doesn't have the luxury of f*cking up again," she says. "That's just not an option. I can't say that nothing else will ever go wrong. But I'm pretty solid in the knowing that he's disgusted by that.
