Chris Brown working on new album

Chris Brown has announced that he is composing songs for a new album Carpe Diem.

The R&B singer has sold over eight million records since his debut eponymous 2005 LP was released.

Brown again is aiming high for his sixth studio album and has enlisted some major players in the music industry to write with.

USA Today reports that Timbaland, Danja and Diplo are all on board to collaborate as producers.

Danja and Timbaland worked with Brown previously on his 2012 album Fortune.

Production duo Da Internz are also writing songs for Carpe Diem.

The pair are impressed with how swiftly Brown can pen a hit tune.

"It's really crazy with Chris, because Chris can really do whatever the hell he wanna do," Da Internz's Marcos 'Kosine' Palacios told MTV News previously.

"I've never seen anyone work as fast as him in the studio. His voice is incredible. He knows what he wants, you know what I mean?

"Like you'll play him a track and he'll be like, he'll just start talking about you know 'Oh, I know what this is; video, visual. I know who I would put on it'."

Carpe Diem is scheduled for release later this year.
