Rihanna thanks Chris Brown for birthday message

Rihanna has further indicated that she is back on good terms with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown by publicly thanking him for wishing her a happy birthday on Twitter.

He sent a message to the singer - who turned 24 today - by referring to her full name.

Brown wrote: "HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROBYN!" - which Rihanna retweeted, adding: "Thanks!"

The couple separated in 2009 after Brown assaulted Rihanna. He went on to receive five years' probation and six months of community service.

They were rumoured to have rekindled their relationship in recent weeks, with Rihanna reportedly inviting Brown to her Valentine's birthday party last week, where they were alleged to have "coupled up".

Chris Brown is also said to have collaborated with Rihanna on a full version of her track titled 'Birthday Cake'.

The rapper celebrated his recent Grammy Awards win with a performance at South Beach, where he received a cake shaped like the music pr! ize.

"Chris performed three of his hottest hits, including 'Look at Me Now', 'Another Round' and 'Strip'," a source told People. "The fans went wild and he stayed at Cameo till 4.30am."
