Miranda Lambert slams Chris Brown on-stage: 'Assault is never okay'

Miranda Lambert has once again condemned Chris Brown over his abusive past.

The 'Heart Like Mine' singer previously objected to Brown's win at last weekend's Grammy Awards on Twitter, referencing his 2009 assault on Rihanna when writing: "He beat on a girl... not cool that we act like that didn't happen."

Brown later responded to Lambert and a slew of other celebrities unhappy with the result, prompting the 28-year-old to again address the subject at a concert in Massachusetts on Thursday (February 16).

While holding up a fan's sign reading "Take notes Chris Brown", Lambert launched into a fiery performance of her song 'Gunpowder and Lead', which is about a woman preparing to kill her abusive husband.

"Get a good picture now, put it on Twitter," she called out while standing with the poster. "I've been in a world of hurt with Chris Brown fans lately but see, I just have to speak my mind, because where I come from, beating up on a woman is never okay."

After hearing of Lambert's stunt, Brown wrote on Twitter: "Using my name to get publicity? I love it! Perform your heart out!"

He then somewhat surprisingly told followers: "Go buy @miranda_lambert album! So motivational and "PERFECT"!"

Brown recently denied reports that he told a potential date: "I promise I won't beat you."

The 'Yeah 3x' singer has been tipped to collaborate with Rihanna for a new version of her Talk That Talk album track 'Birthday Cake'.

The former lovers were said to have "coupled up" at her 24th birthday party this week.
