Chris Brown Wins Grammy, Fans Adoration Despite Beating Singer Rihanna

Chris Brown wins a Grammy. Chris Brown wins a Grammy.

The music industry has officially dismissed the fact that Chris Brown, 22, beat and abused his then-girlfriend, Rihanna.

Three years after he beat up Rihanna, and two years after he was charged with felony assault and making criminal threats, the singer last night at one of the music industry's most coveted events, was awarded with a Grammy.

Chris Brown won for Best R&B Album with his record "F.A.M.E."

Brown took to his Twitter account @chrisbrown to celebrate: "Team breezy we have come along way and I'm so appreciative of you guys!!!! No matter what anyone says.... WE MADE IT!!"

His fans always stood by his side despite him admitting to beating the face of Rihanna.

And, disturbingly, many fans have voiced that they would "let him beat" them up as well.

Buzzfeed.com writer Matt Stopera, compiled the story, "25 Extremely Upsetting Reactions To Chris Brown At The Grammys," which shows female fans backing Brown.

Other Twitter users made interesting comments about the Grammy show as well:

Calvin@aurosan: "Remember when Adam Lambert kissed a man on TV and was blacklisted? Remember when Chris Brown beat Rihanna and won a Grammy?" This comment was retweeted 8136 times.

Jason Pinter@jasonpinter: "Dear Grammys: You can't mourn Whitney Houston, whose downward spiral was in part due to an abusive relationship, then celebrate Chris Brown."

Following his Brown pleading guilty to the felony and accepting a plea deal of community labor, five years' formal probation and domestic violence counseling, Brown appeared on Larry King Live on Sept. 2, 2009. It was Br! own's fi rst public interview about the domestic violence case.

Brown admitted to seeing the now very public photos of Rihanna's bruised face and said it is "tough" for him to look at it and that it may be the one image to haunt and define him forever.

"I'm pretty sure we can always be friends," Brown told King, "and I don't know about our relationship, but I just know definitely that we ended as friends." In addition, he stated he does not feel that his career is over.

Guess he was right.
