Chris Brown: Im Not Going Anywhere

By Breeanna Hare, CNN

Some who tuned in to Sundays Grammys werent happy to see Chris Brown take the stage twice to perform, and a third time to accept the best R&B album award and it appears the artist hasnt held back in response.

According to Mashable.com, which has an image of one of the tweets the 22-year-old singer posted Tuesday afternoon before deleting them, HATE ALL U WANT BECUZ I GOT A GRAMMY Now! Thats the ultimate F*** OFF!

CNN has reached out to Browns rep, who has not responded as of press time.

He followed that up Wednesday with a message to the press: Dear mediaUr plan is not working. Im not going anywhere so get used to me.

It was just three years ago, many detractors said, that the world was learning more about his assault of his then-girlfriend Rihanna, which happened the day before the 2009 Grammy Awards.

A Washington Post op-ed pointed out that while people should have second chances, that doesnt mean they deserve the chance to strut around the Grammy stage a few years after being convicted of felony assault The Atlantics Jeffrey Goldberg tweeted Sunday, Chris Brown? I dont look to the Grammys for moral clarity, but, really? Do the words felony assault mean anything at all?

In addition to media critiques of Browns Grammy appearance, celebrities like Miranda Lambert, Jack Osbourne and Michelle Branch also openly disagreed with the Recording Academys decision to have Brown be a part of their program.

Lambert posted after checking out the show, Not cool that we act like that didnt happen. He needs to listen to [my song] Gunpowder and lead and be put back in his place. Not at the Grammys. Osbourne, meanwhile, says that while hes been getting Chris Brown hate mail, the singers supporters havent changed his view.

Ok okIll stop, he wrote Tuesday. All you Chris Brown supporters are right. I am wrongbut before I go, remember one thing. #chrisbrownbeatswomen.

According to MTV, the president of the Recording Acade! my, Neil Portnow, has said, If were going to get in [to] trying to personally evaluate artists in terms of their personal lives, thats a slippery slope that we wouldnt want to get into.

Meanwhile, Brown returned to Twitter Wednesday afternoon to thank his fans.

TeamBreezy, the Grammy I received was for those of you who supported my music and the hard work and growth in my life, Brown wrote. I thank you! Love U!
