Rihanna , Chris Brown record songs together

RIHANNA and her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown released two new songs they recorded together - a collaboration that may come as a surprise to fans following a messy domestic violence case between the stars.

The singers took to Twitter to post links of their new songs Birthday Cake and Turn Up the Music.

Rihanna, whose real name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, sings on Brown's remix of Turn Up the Music, while he is on the remix of her Birthday Cake.

Brown is serving five years' probation after pleading guilty to assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna at a pre-Grammy Awards party in 2009.

A judge also issued a restraining order that required Brown to stay 50 yards (45.7m) away from Rihanna and 10 yards (9.1m) away at public events, but it was modified to allow the two to appear at awards shows together.

The singers have since reconciled, with Rihanna saying in an interview last year with Esquire magazine that she put the incident behind her and really likes his music.

The news of their new working relationship comes as Brown, 22, sent Rihanna a Twitter message wishing her a happy 24th birthday yesterday.
