Rihanna appears to have that "forgive and forget" mentality, as the pop singer invited ex-boyfriend Chris Brown to her birthday party on Monday night.

Brown made an appearance at the Caribbean-themed birthday bash, mingling with friends and even spending time with the birthday girl, according to Perez Hilton.

Sources told TMZthat the R&B singer refused to enter the party until receiving signatures on confidentiality agreements from party goers. Although not everyone signed the paperwork, Brown still entered the party.

TMZ reported that Brown and Rihanna were spotted sitting next to each other, talking and even holding hands.

Rihanna, who will turn 24 on February 20, hosted a lavish birthday party at the Hearst Mansion in Beverly Hills. Famous friends Bruno Mars, Kelly Rowland, Chris Martin and recently divorced Katy Perry were all in attendance.

The Mirror reported that Rihanna took out all the stops for her swanky soire, including mermaid vodka ice sculptures, expensive Cuban cigars, and a full Caribbean banquet.

The birthday party was just one of many Rihanna plans on having before she leaves for England next week, although it is still under speculation if Brown will be attendance for any of the other parties.

While Rihanna appears to have forgiven Brown for assaulting her in February 2009, the rest of the world is still holding a grudge. After Brown's Grammy wins on Sunday, celebrities lashed out against the R&B star. Brown fought backagainst critics, tweeting HATE ALL U WANT BECUZ I GOT A GRAMMY.! Now! Th at's the ultimate F--- OFF.

Brown has since deleted the tweet.
