will.i.am and Chris Brown's 'Let's Go' in copyright breach allegation

will.i.am and Chris Brown's new track 'Let's Go' has become the subject of a copyright controversy.

It has been alleged that 'Let's Go' from Voice UK coach will.i.am's new album #willpower closely mirrors Arty and Mat Zo's 'Rebound', and the production duo both commented on the similarities on Tuesday (April 16).

Arty has alleged on his Twitter page that the rights for 'Rebound' have not been cleared, writing:

Zo, meanwhile, has posted a statement on Facebook appealing for fans to remain respectful, condemning what he described as "horrific abuse" sent to will.i.am and Brown over Twitter.

"I really and truly appreciate all the support you are giving me and Arty in response to will.i.am's copyright infringement," Zo wrote. "However, this doesn't excuse the horrific abuse you're sending the way of will.i.am and Chris Brown, and it especially doesn't excuse being racist."

An earlier, longer draft of Zo's post (via Dancing Astronaut) read: "Arty and I are not bitter about this, more surprised. We knew will.i.am was interested in this track, but declined working with him at the time."

Zo also noted that he had deleted his own Twitter account so as to avoid an "outbreak [of] verbal diarrhoea".

Brown also said in a tweet - since deleted - that he was unaware of any alleged copyright infringement when recording his guest spot on 'Let's Go', writing: "Someone asked for a feature on a record and I did it."
