Chris Brown's bodyguard is reportedly suing Drake over his involvement in the infamous club brawl at New York nightclub W.i.P. last summer.

The 'Fine China' singer was partying at the same nightclub as Drake last June when the two camps got into a bottle-throwing brawl, injuring several party-goers including Chris' bodyguard Patrick 'Big Pat' Strickland.

In the process of trying to protect Chris from getting hurt, Patrick suffered a head injury as a result of the glass being thrown around, and has now filed a lawsuit against both Drake and W.i.P. for sitting the two musicians near each other knowing they were rivals.

In the court documents, Patrick refers to Drake as a popular and successful, albeit critically derided, entertainer, adding that the seating arrangement created a substantial and unjustifiable risk that a mass altercation would occur between the two camps.

According to the NYDailyNews, Drake's camp sent a note to Chris which read: I'm f**king the love of your life, in reference to Rihanna who has dated both artists. The note is said to have caused a verbal altercation, which then prompted a massive bar brawl ! that involved bottle throwing, possible gunshots and a general state of riot and disorder.

Patrick was taken to hospital where he required stitches after the brawl, with photos surfacing days later of his injuries while the bodyguard was laying on a hospital bed. The lawsuit states that Patrick endured severe and disfiguring injuries to his face, head and eyes.

Chris and Patrick are believed to have a turbulent relationship after the singer reportedly threw him off a flight in Bermuda following an argument. However, Chris played down the incident during an interview with Power 105.1's Breakfast Club, saying Patrick is his "family."
