Chris Brown compares himself to Justin Bieber, says youth and 'limitless income' lead to bad reputations in the media

R&B artist Chris Brown says he has a common bond with 19-year-old pop star Justin Bieber because they both are young, affluent, and occasionally unrestrained which draws the attention of the media.

Brown visited The Breakfast Club radio program on Tuesday to promote X, his latest album. As usual, the subject came around to Browns tumultuous relationship with Rihanna.

Brown reflected on the bad press hes dealt with in the wake of his domestic abuse incident in 2009.

I gotta just take [criticism] on the chin, man. I cant expect everybody to like me.The one thing they dont like to see you do is smile.

Brown then brought up the similarities between himself and Bieber, another young artist whose recent behavior has been scrutinized by the media.

Brown said, I think with him its a case of how I feel. It's being young, having limitless amount of income for whatever you want to do as a young guy. And then, at the same time, you don't have nobody that's gonna say, 'Hey, bro, you look whack right now.'"

The embattled singer says he's now used to rehashing his sordid past during interviews, but this revelation was long in coming. Brown had an infamous lapse of self-control on Good Morning America in 2011.

According to ABC News, Brown threw a chair threw the glass window of! his dressing room then stormed out of the GMA building without a shirt on.

Browns anger was triggered by talk show host Robin Roberts wanting to discuss Rihannas restraining order against him instead of promoting his album F.A.M.E.

The artist told The Breakfast Club that he is trying to focus more on his music and less on public opinion.

I done said Eff this a lot of times, a gang of times, and [the media] kind of went the wrong way. It made it worse. I think for me its just being like, Yo, Im cool. Smoke a blunt and dont care, Brown said.
