Chris Brown will not be at the VMA's in 'any capacity'

No one wants to feel like a third wheel and that goes double for rapper and ex-boyfriend Chris Brown who plans to avoid the Video Music Awards at all costs after Drake and Rihanna were both announced as nominees and are certain to be at the Staples Center.

According to Entertainment Wise, Brown, who originally was going to perform with Rihanna, will not be attending the VMAs as confirmed by his rep. He states, [Chris] will not be at the VMAs in any capacity."

EW notes that the potential reason behind Browns backing out is the highly publicized brawl which took place at a lower Manhattan club, the W.i.P. The brawl reportedly took place over Rihanna, who dated both Brown and Drake.

Both men came forward professing their innocence and conflicting stories have risen stating that each man began throwing the bottles which instigated the fight. Thus far, both men have been sued for the incident.

The S&M singer opened up to Oprah Winfrey in an interview, which aired on OWN. The singer confessed to still being in love with Brown, and explained that she felt that she lost her best friend from the break-up.

The VMAs will take place in Los Angeles on September 6.
