Tuned In: Chris Brown's Mom Is Selling Chris Brown Pit Bull Puppies

(Getty)Many of the nation's animal shelters are overrun with abandoned pitbulls likely to be euthanized, but that hasn't kept Chris Brown and his mom Joyce from announcing a new money-making venture: Chris Brown pit bull puppies. For real.

Also in music news, Nicki Minaj has returned to Twitter, Jack White will score the new Lone Ranger movie, Foster the People has released a new music video, and more.

You'd think Chris Brown would avoid associations with anything potentially violent, given how his conviction for felony assault on ex-girlfriend Rihanna almost derailed his career. But reason doesn't seem to apply when it comes to Brown, who is apparently allowing his mother to use his name to sell pit bull puppies online. Yes: You can own a Chris Brown pitbull for the low price of $1000.

Brown's mother, Joyce Hawkins, tweeted a link to a bare-bones website featuring pictures of eight American pit bull terriers who were born at the end of February.

While the dogs are certainly adorable and it's highly unlikely that Brown's mom is on the path to becoming a one-woman puppy mill, one has to question the ethics of this move considering how many pit bulls are euthanized due to overpopulation in the U.S. each year. Does the world really need boutique pit bull puppies bearing the Chris Brown name?

Meanwhile, Chris's ex, Rihanna, may star in a movie with James Franco someday, so says James Franco. "I think she's gonna be in the new movie that I'm doing, Seth Rogen's directorial debut," Franco told MTV. "I think she has a little part in that."

! Nicki Minaj is back on Twitter after a nine-day absence.

State of the Union: Dear Barbz, our nation will not be fully reinstated to 11 million for another few days as per @twitter. It takes time ;)

The Starships video premieres tomorrow on MTV @ 7:56pm EST.

HA! Nice timing, Nicki.

The world will have to wait a little over a year to hear Jack White's score for The Lone Ranger, which stars Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter. We smell a cameo.

Damon Albarn says we all just misinterpreted him that time he said Blur and Gorillaz were basically done probably: "That comes from an article which was an interesting take on a very long conversation."

Anyone frustrated that "Pumped Up Kicks" continues to dominate Top 40 can watch the band get whomped and puppeteered in the kind of amazing new video for "Houdini."
