  • Chris Brown tells Sydney partygoers "no pics"
  • Security confiscated phones from snap-happy fans
  • R&B singer still in hot water over previous run-ins

R&B star Chris Brown seems not to have lost his camera-shyness.

Security guards flanking the singer, pictured here this week with Anthony Mundine, allegedly put some partygoers offside during a night out at Kings Cross hotspot Backroom when they confiscated phones from people attempting to take photographs.

"They were his personal security guards and were watching for anyone with a camera phone," said a guest.

"If they saw someone taking a picture they just took the phone and deleted any photos and handed it back, telling them Chris was not to be photographed."

The official line from Brown's label rep yesterday was, simply; "Sony Music won't be making any comment on this', while Backroom owner David Freeman said; "It was a private party for Chris and his friends and the rules were no photos."

It's not the first time he has objected to pictures.

The singer is ! being in vestigated by police in the US after he allegedly stole a woman's iPhone after a night out in Florida back in February.

The woman, 24, said she and friends followed Brown out of a club and took the photo as he was sitting in a black Bentley.

"(Brown) reached through his car window, snatched her phone from her hands, and said, 'bitch! You ain't going to put that on no website!'," the police report noted. The matter is still being checked.

Brown is still on probation for assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna prior to the 2009 Grammy Awards.

Brown, who spent the past week in Sydney after appearing at Supafest on Sunday, was far more camera-ready on Wednesday at a sparring session with Mundine, tweeting several pictures of the tete-tete.
