Gigwise reports that the band have passed on the opportunity out of protest towards Brown's assault of Rihanna in 2009.

The band say that they owed the rejection to their fans, with ukulele player Sean 'Walshy' Walsh saying: "Even though it's a huge opportunity to play in The O2 with a major hip-hop star and a substantial fee was offered, we are completely against Chris Brown's assault on Rihanna.

"In addition, with our latest single 'Blue Eyes' being about domestic violence, it goes against everything we are about as a band and supporting Chris Brown would send out the wrong message to our fans."

There have recently been rumours that Brown and Rihanna h! ave rekindled their relationship, despite Brown still being on probation for the attack.

The R&B star recently said that he "doesn't blame the public for judging him" over the incident.
