Chris Brown at first claimed he wasn't attending tonight's MTV Video Music Awards but it seems that after rumoured lover Rihanna begged him to attend telling him that she wants to see him, he had a change of heart.

The 'Yeah X3' star was reported to have decided not to go despite his nominations, to avoid a confrontation with rapper Drake, who he and his entourage had a fight with at a New York club in June.

But after the 'Talk That Talk' star allegedly reached out to him about his plans to avoid it the singer reportedly changed his mind.

A source told HollywoodLife: He know Rihanna will be there. She texted him on [Sept. 4] and told him do what you want to and get ya a** there I want to see you.He was hyped and was like, man f**k that, Im going.

Chris, who is currently dating model Karrueche Tran, is reportedly planning to leave her at home on the night, with speculation that it could be so he can hook up with Rihanna.

The former couple are rumoured to be still hooking up, with Riri even admitting in an interview with Oprah Winfrey that she loves her ex boyfriend.

The source explained: He keeps telling us that he wants to go.

We [his frie! nds] keep pushing him to hit up the awards because we want him to go there, have fun, kick it with his homies in the game and have a good time. Theres nothing wrong with that. Thats what he said and we were all behind him but that was a few days ago so I guess well see what time it is and if he is really gonna go.
