Chris Brown Album Sold With "This Man Beats Women!" Warning Sticker

We are all familiar with Parental Advisory stickers, but Chris Brown's latest album got itself a whole new warning stamp at a U.K. music store this week.

Brown's fifth LP, Fortune, was released in the U.K. this past July, where it quickly shot to Number One thanks to dance-friend ly tracks like "Don't Wake Me Up" and "Turn Up the Music." Instead of being garnished with one of those promo stickers that applauds the album for its merits three months down the line, Brown's album was stamped with an advisory label that people should not buy the LP because he "beats women." No joke.

The sticker, which reads "WARNING: Do not buy this album! This man beats women!," is a dig on Brown's 2009 assault on ex-girlfrien d Rihanna following a pre-Grammy party. Although Rihanna wound up bloody and in the hospital following the altercation, the "S.O.S." singer has since rekindled her friendship with Breezy. She raved about him in a recent interview with Oprah, and had Brown appear on a remix to her track "Birthday Cake" earlier this year. Several domestic violence groups have voiced their disdain for Rihanna's actions, leading people to believe this sticker incident was a well thoughtout scheme by such a group. While some might call it karma, the HMV retail store where the sticker surfaced promises it was a one-off prank.

"It was very much an isolated incident and nothing to do with HMV or representing our views," a spokesman for the store told E! News. "It would appear a member of the public popped into one of our stores yesterday and stickered a handful of CDs. These were spotted and quickly removed, but, before we could act, the individual concerned must have taken a photo and sent it to the media. To our knowledge there are no further stickers in our stores now."
