CHRIS BROWN BREAKS HIS SILENCE

(GAINESVILLE, Ga.) A week after allegedly attacking girlfriend Rihanna, musician Chris Brown has spoken out.

According to CNNs website, on Sunday Brown released a statement saying "Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired," and though Brown does not officially confirm or deny any wrongdoing, citing legal issues, he does state that "Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong.

Brown has been accused of attacking Rihanna on the day the Grammy awards were held, according to CNN. He was arrested and released on bail.

Rihanna has kept silent as well, though, according to PerezHilton.com, her father stated "At some point, she will speak out. I hope she will stand up for women all over the world."
