Rihanna, Chris Brown Tracks 'Not Intended To Shock'

Rihanna's surprise collaboration with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown was not intended to shock people, claims a source.

Ever since RiRi and Breezy unveiled their remixes of Birthday Cake and Turn Up The Music, the Bajan babe has been forced to defend her actions - even arguing with her fans on Twitter.

However, a friend of the We Found Love singer has now revealed the 24-year old's collaboration with Chris was not intended to cause controversy and instead shows the pair have put Brown's 2009 assault on Rihanna behind them.

RiRi's pal told More! magazine: "She'll have recorded with Chris not to shock but to remind the world that he's paid his dues and moved on, and that he's a very talented singer.

"I think she feels strongly that one bad moment in his life should not define who he is forever.

Birthday Cake writer The-Dream also recently commented on Rihanna's decision to team-up with Brown, telling our US Team that their duet was her idea.

He explained: "At the end of the day, she's my friend, so whatever she wants to do is whatever she wants to do.

"She's pretty smart too. The same questions that went through my mind, and I'm an artist also, had to have gone through hers,

"When she raised the question to me, I kno! w she's not crazy. So my thought was you've been thinking about this, you've already thought it out, so evidently you know what reaction you gonna get."
