Chris Brown Proves No Scandal Can Damage His Career As He Heads For First Ever UK Number 1

What with a rumoured Rihanna reunion, a Twitter outburst over the Grammys and a bizarre scandal involving a woman's mobile phone, Chris Brown hasn't been surrounded by this much controversy since his infamous abuse incident. But, despite all that, he's heading for his first ever UK number 1 single on Sunday.

'Turn Up The Music' rocketed to the top of the iTunes rankings within 24 hours of being released, and today the Official Charts Company confirmed that it is comfortably on course to replace Katy Perry at the top of the charts.

The blue-haired bombshell's ''Part Of Me' is looking likely to drop down to No. 3, whilst Sean Paul holds at No. 2 with 'She Doesn't Mind'.

Further down the chart, Jessie J is the first artist to benefit significantly from 'The Voice effect', as her album track 'Mama Knows Best' rockets into the countdown at No. 40 in today's midweek figures. J Marie Cooper, who joined will.i.am's team, performed it on Saturday's critically-acclaimed opening episode.

The finalised singles charts will be announced on BBC Radio 1 on Sunday at 4pm.
