Promoting 'Positivity and Love' While Threatening to Poop In Someone's EyeThe excerpts of Chris Brown's cover interview with XXL are all kinds of hilarious, given that he recently quit Twitter after furiously threatening to poop in a female comedy writer's eye. Though the singer admits that he regularly flew off the handle at his so-called haters, he thinks he's cultivated a newfound maturity when it comes to social networking:

I havent been as mature and thought out in the past, so, me growing now, its showing my progression. I used to use my Twitter account to vent, but now I mostly use it for marketing and promotions. Even if the media asks me something, if its cool then its, Whats up? But if its anything thats too negative, I dont care to respond.

Except, you know, when he d! oes respond. Still, Brown believes he's a force for good: "I use music or painting as my outlet to get through the confusion. I try to promote positivity and love.

Don't Go to Times Square This NYEAmanda Palmer and the Grand Theft Orchestra are giving a very special performance at New York City's Terminal 5 this New Year's Eve, playing a set of original songs before launching into Prince's Purple Rain... in its entirety. Palmer has promised to make it rather epic: "The band will, of course, be dressed in our finest Prince-esque finery, covering all aspects of Prince, his facial hair, and his various eras of nudity. We're also encouraging the entire audience to "come as your favorite era of prince". I want to run around counting people in ASSLESS CHAPS, and maybe give them door prizes for bravery. New Years Eve is cold.

Trace Adkins Is Sorry You Think the Stars and Bars Are RacistTrace Adkins drew some criticism a few days ago when he appeared at the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree lighting ceremony with a Confederate flag earpiece. Though Adkins is aware of the racial implications that come with the Stars and Bars, he says he doesn't mean it that way. He's just a Civil War apologist, see:

As a proud American I object to oppression of any kind.

To me, the battle flag represents remembrance of my Southern lineage I am a descendant of Confederate soldiers who followed that flag into battle.

I advocate for the preservation of Americas battlefields and honest conversation about our Countrys history.

To those who view the flag as a symbol of racism, that was not my message and I did not intend offense.
