EVEN after debuting at No.1, performing at the Grammys and selling-out tours around the world, R'n'B star Chris Brown's latest album has received scathing reviews.

Critics decimated the singer's latest album, Fortune, in a series of reviews which threaten to even further derail his reputation.

Chad Taylor was among the first to post his thoughts on the record - a succinct six-word article which has since gone viral.

Taylor's review, printed in Iowa's independent weekly CityView simply read: "Chris Brown hits women. Enough said."

The American journalist was applauded for condemning the singer, who was accused of brutally beating his former girlfriend Rihanna in February 2009.

"Best Chris Brown review to date. Thank you for being awesome @ChadTaylor, for @dmcityview! #domesticviolence" one user wrote.

While another added: "The Only Chris Brown Album Review You Need To Read - Round of applause for Chad Taylor, a writer for [Iowa] local paper CityView, for this succinct write-up."

Aussie music journalist Chloe Papas also wrote a brutally honest review of the new record last week, which was dubbed by some as the "best album review you will ever read."

The Perth reviewer's words received universal praise after she refused to award Brown a rating on the album, instead giving it "NO STARS EVER".

"Chris Brown has released his fifth studio album - a 19-track repugnan! t record that we can only hope will be his last," Papas wrote in X-Press magazine.

"Till I Die is a catastrophic misogynistic s--- of a song" she added, "The whole album is skitzy and has two themes: unprotected sex is cool and partying is fun."

Papas' didn't hold back in her appraisal, saying it shouldn't appeal to anyone with "ears" or "morals".

"Regardless of whether Chris Brown has any musical talent (he doesn't) or whether this album is any good (it isn't), the man recently brutally assaulted a woman, and is still regularly invited back to award shows and worshipped by 'Breezy' fans worldwide. Which is, frankly, disgusting. And for those of you out there saying you need to separate the music and the man: screw you, don't encourage his actions. Final words: don't buy this album.

Brown was also criticised for his use of misogynistic lyrics in such as "I super soak that ho / Show 'em no love / Throw 'em a towel" in the albums track, Till I Die.

Fortune debuted at No.1 on the American Billboard 200 charts in early July, selling 135,000 copies in its first week.

It also took the top spot in the Netherlands, New Zealand and United Kingdom, and reached the top ten in Australia, Canada, France, Ireland, Japan and Switzerland.
