Chris Brown pitches Tatnuck to PNJ playoff berth

Tatnuck 6, Northboro 2: Chris Brown pitched his third complete game of the season as Tatnuck (9-5) topped Northboro (6-7) at Worcester State.

The win clinched a playoff spot for Tatnuck, which will face Shrewsbury or Paul Mitchell at 1 p.m. tomorrow.

Luke Russell (two hits, RBI) and Nick Toedt (single, two RBIs) led Tatnuck.

Jack Henningsen had an RBI double and Josh Utland knocked in Northboros other run with a triple.

Hopedale 10, Douglas 3: Tyler Nordquist went 3 for 4 and struck out seven while pitching a complete game for visiting Hopedale (5-7).

Chris Embree reached base four times and scored twice for Hopedale, and Collin Keaney had a two-run double.

Steve Fiero had a two-run single and Andrew Reed went 3 for 4 with a run for Douglas.

East Side 11, Northbridge 1: Jimmy Smith (2 for 3, three runs), Regan Aghdam (double, run), Steve Flynn (2 for 4, run) and Nate Frederick (double, run) each drove in two runs as host East Side (10-2) recorded a five-inning, mercy-rule victory over Northbridge (9-5) at Gaskill Field.

Aghdam allowed one run on five hits and a walk while striking out four in five innings.

Gregory ODonnell went 2 for 2 and Jordan Smith had an RBI single for Northbridge.

Main South 11, Auburn 3: Tom Petry led the way with three hits (two triples) and five RBIs as Main South (6-9) won at Auburn (7-4).

Luke Brennan struck out eight and pitched a complete game for Main South.

Mike Vaitkunas and Mikal Diaz each had RBI singles for Auburn.

Northboro 6, Milford 4: Mike Babine (2 for 2) stole three bases and scored twice, and John Friday and Owen Shea both doubled and drove in two runs for Northboro (6-3).

Nick Crivello drove in two runs and Matt Gerard doubled and drove in a run for visiting Milford (8-2).

Shrewsbury 5, North County 0: Sp encer Resnicks scoreless-innings streak reached 18 as host Shrewsbury (7-4) defeated North County (3-12).

Mike Coggeshall went 2 for 3 with a double, triple and three RBIs. Chris Strobel and Ryan Dube each singled and scored.

Anthony Deleo and Tim McHugh each had two hits for North County.

Wachusett 9, Sturbridge 7: Dan Whigham (2 for 4) had a double and scored twice for Wachusett (6-11), which won for the third time in four games.

Cam Ruziak (triple, RBI) and Joe Oliva (two runs) each went 2 for 4 for Wachusett.

Eric Proulx and Nick Champeau each doubled and scored twice for Sturbridge (3-11).

Ronnies 5, Lunenburg 0: Joe Green carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning for Ronnies (8-7-1) until it was broken up by a leadoff single by Brian Ricuitti of Lunenburg (10-13).

Ricuittis single was one of just two hits allowed by Green, who struck out five.

Kevin Greene singled and doubled for Ronnies, and Andy Fallon and Josh Dufresne each had RBI singles.

TIVNAN BIG LEAGUE
Southbridge 15, Holden II 13: Emilio and Jordan Torres combined to go 6 for 6 with four RBIs as host Southbridge (10-4) outlasted Holden II (3-10).

Mckentry Long went 2 for 2 with three RBIs and Tyler Barnes was 3 for 4 with two RBIs for Southbridge.

Joe McMahon (two RBIs) and Matt McEvilly (three RBIs) each went 3 for 4 for Holden.
