Chris Brown Teams Up With Artist Ron English For Line Of Toys, Necklaces

Ron English x Chris Brown toy lineHe created the colorful cover for his F.A.M.E. album, and now Chris Brown has teamed up with contemporary artist Ron English again for a line of vinyl toys and necklaces.

Dubbed the Dum English astronaut series, the line features creepy spaceman figurines meant to symbolize the pitfalls of celebrity, the artist told the Miami New-Times.

"We were talking about what it was like to be famous," English tells the paper. "It seems like something that's very attractive. But it can also be very isolating in ways."

In ways, that interpretation represents Brown has faced ever since his widely-publicized 2009 altercation with ex-girlfriend Rihanna.

Additionally, English collaborated with the singer on a sculpture that was unveiled at Miami's Art Basel festival over the weekend.

"Most artists listen to music when they paint," English explained. "A lot of famous musicians don't know about art. Kanye West has gotten really into art. David Bowie got heavily into art."

The toy series will be available at specialty stores around the country including Kid Robot, while the necklaces will be at retail stores, and the sculpture at galleries.
