Rihanna and Chris Brown are reportedly spending Christmas apart despite apparently rekindling their on-off romance.

'Umbrella' singer Rihanna, 24, is currently in Barbados and is said to have chosen to spend the festive period on the Caribbean island with her family rather than with 23-year-old boyfriend Chris.

A source told the Daily Mirror: Her relationship with Chris has always been really complicated. But they are no longer together. Rihanna is spending the holiday relaxing with her family.

The couple's romance was believed to be back on track but Rihanna recently posted a message on Twitter suggesting she was once again single.

However, Chris appeared to contradict Rihanna's tweet by recently posting a picture of the pair looking loved-up before quickly deleting it 15 minutes later.

Will RiRi and Chris be back on for the New Year? Who knows...
