- Chris Brown: Dont Let The Law
Chris Brown it cant be easy to have the worst episode in your life fictionalized-to-the-max in the most negative way. But you have to ignore it.
Chris Brown, youve admitted in an interview that assaulting Rihanna was the deepest regret of your life. Sometimes you row, you fight with the one you love and things get said, stuff spirals, you toldThe Mirror on Feb. 24
You have certainly paid the price for the terrible night when you assaulted Rihanna on February 8, 2009. First, you were punished by the law you were sentenced to five years of probation and 1,400 hours of labor-oriented service. Plus, you took anger management classes.
And you were proud when you completed those anger management classes: I have enough self respect and decency to be proud of accomplishing this DV (domestic violence) class Boyz run from their mistakes Men learn from them!!!, you tweeted.
You were also punished professionally. You had to work hard to win back the loyalty and regard of your fans, who felt let down by the assault.
But even worse, you letyou! rself down. You hated how your stepfather Donelle Hawkens abused your beloved mother Joyce Hawkens, and his abuse terrified you as a child and a young teenager. The last thing you wanted to do was to repeat the behavior that you despised.
And worst of all, you hurt and then lost the love of the woman who was your best friend and girlfriend,Rihanna. It took her years to finally forgive you and for the two of you to reconcile.
Chris Brown Finally Spoke Out About His Feelings For Rihanna
Its only been very recently that youve been able to publicly say: We are back together. She is the most beautiful girl in the world, which you toldPage Six.
At the end of the day, Chris knows that what he did was f**ked up to Rihanna, a source close to youtold HollywoodLife.com. Chris will live with that demon for the rest of his life. It messed up his relationship with Rihanna, his career at that time, his image he let his mom down, his family, her family and his fans hes not trying to play the victim. Hes just hurt by what he did.
Its for all these reasons that it must be so difficult to have a TV show exploit your and Rihannas life for entertainment value. And even worse for that TV show to fictionalize what happened and make it far, far worse.
Chris Brown Actively Supports Domestic Violence Programs
After all, not only have you worked hard to repair your relationship with Rihanna, but have also become deeply involved in supporting the Jenesse Center which offers support andcounseling to victims of domestic violence in LA. You also ! just part! icipated in Adrian Petersons fundraiser for his domestic violence charity, All Day Foundation, in Houston on Feb. 16.
So yes, it must feel so discouraging when youre trying to move forward positively from a terrible mistake that you made as a 19-year-old, and you are constantly having that mistake brought back in front of your eyes.
In any case Chris, keep focusing on being a much better person. Surround yourself with close friends and family. Theres only one thing you can do about the Law & Order episode and thats, ignore it!
