Rihanna and Chris Brown to share the front row at the VMAs

The MTV VMAs are known for crazy antics and surprising performances, but this years award ceremonies biggest shock so far is how close Rihanna is sitting to ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.

E! News snuck a peak at the Los Angeles Staples Center where the ceremony takes place and noted that the former couple is sitting in the front row seven seats apart.

The members of One Direction and Pink fill the seats in-between Brown and Rihanna. Katy Perry takes a seat next to the Barbadian singer, with Drake, Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift occupying the same row.

The close seating arrangement only contributes to rumors of a Rihanna and Brown performance.

When Perez Hilton asked the singers camp if Rihanna would share the stage with Brown, a friend answered:

"Thats obvious. Hell yeah, she would. [There isn't anything] she wouldnt do for that [him]. Shed do just about anything for him."

Other celebs attending the VMAs include Miley Cyrus, Emma Watson and Demi Lovato, as well as the U.S. Olympic womens gymnastic team plans to present during the awards show.

I know me and Kyla [Ross] are really excited to meet One Direction," McKayla Maroney told E! News. "It's kind of coolwe're the fierce five' and they're a group of five. I think we should each of us all meet, each five."
